The Devil’s Balcony, a beautiful place to visit while in Cusco

Given its scenic beauty, its mountains, the river that in its flow shows of huacas and ceremonial centers that have captivated visitors, the devil’s balcony is a place to enjoy, relax and know more about our culture.

On the backside of the Saqsayhuaman archaeological center is the Balcony of the Devil, an archaeological attraction and natural architectural heritage left by our ancestors. Today it is part of a beautiful park where you can go to enjoy hiking, camping, walks and excursions.

The Balcony of the Devil is known for being a large rock with a spectacular view of a chasm in the middle. There is a window, a balcony overlooking the river that runs underneath rock. Below the balcony, the river goes through a huge cave towards the other end of the rock. Some people dare cross through, making a chilling experience.

From Sacsayhuaman it takes us 20 minutes to get to the place. This is in the community of Chakan, at the foot of the Apu Senqa. Some travel agencies offer horseback riding to get to the park. Some prefer to go with friends and others to do tours of connection and mystical tourism.

A few days ago I went to the Balcony of the Devil. My friends and I walked to the park and we enjoyed much of its scenic beauty, its archaeological sites, the river and the cave. We passed through the cave towards the other end. It was a challenge. We all enjoyed a tranquility and a meeting and connection with nature, totally recommended while in Cuzco.
