Celebration in Cusco of Mickey Mouse’s Anniversary

Walt Disney’s most emblematic and most loved personage, Mickey Mouse, is reaching another step on this 18th of November, the anniversary of his presentation to the world. To celebrate this day and to get marketing advantage from it, the Disney Company has taken the figure on the road to visit the most emblematic and well known places.

Disney hopes to convert November into the month of Mickey Mouse and to give the famous Mouse more reality as if he were indeed a person. Instead of calling this a celebration of his anniversary, they are calling it a “birthday”.

Disney’s visit has been a joy for many Cusqueños. He was presented in the City of the Incas last November 4th.

The celebration was carried out on the esplanade of the Inca site of Saqsayhuaman, where Intiraymi is carried out. It was spectacle of entertainment in which the loved personage danced and was accompanied by regional music and dances.

For those who could not be there, or who are just now finding out about Disney’s visit, a fun video has been loaded to their Facebook page where you can still enjoy the happenings. It already has more than a million reproduction and has been shared more than 11 thousand time.

Just as they came to Cusco, they are also visiting places such as Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Roma, Shanghai, Kyoto y Los Angeles.  Many more places are also awaiting to be visited by the Disney show of Mickey and his “birthday”.
