From the fields of sowing many farmers bring sacks of potatoes of different varieties to sell in all markets of Cusco and also travel long and heavy trips to reach all departments of Peru so that this product can not be missing from the tables of households . But we do not realize the value that this product has behind the curtain, so that one of these potatoes has the flavor and all the nutritional value has to go through a process that only the farmer knows.

The sierra of Peru has one of the most fertile lands where the products can reach their maximum production, it is due to the mother Pacha (mother earth), the farmer must prepare the land for the sowing using traditional techniques and rituals.

Another factor that plays in this process is water, rainfall is essential for growth, so with the climate change that affects everyone, it puts the farmer in a bind, leaving the fields dry in the absence of rain. Finally, the farmer must work with his hands to get the product out of the ground, load huge sacks full of potatoes on his back so they can reach our table, sometimes the price at which they sell it is well below the actual price we should pay.

So the potato that we are consuming is not just another product but it is a product that brings emotions and identity. We value the potato. OUr country has more varieties of potato as well as different shapes and colors. Buy Peruvian products and help our farmers to continue sharing this product that brings us immense joy. When you eat today any potatoes in your meals, think and reflect on this product that comes from the lands of Peru.
