February Brings Fresh Fruit and Vegetables to Cuzco Markets
Lovely February is when the rains decorate the markets with colorful and diversified fruit and adorn the aisles with fresh and healthy vegetables.
Thanks to the rains, during this season the fields produce lots of food. To our markets the best food comes, such as vegetables without which there would be no life. These days you can find lots of potatoes, fresh corn we call choclo, carrots, broad beans, tomatoes, lots of different avocados, and a whole range of fresh fruit, such as papaya, mangos, bananas, peaches, and more.
Today, Sunday, is market day. Taking advantage of a day off work women and others will go out from their home with bags to male the week’s purchases. They start coming to the markets very early in the mornings to get the freshest and best of products.
