On a road like the one that leads to the archeological centers of Machu Picchu or Choquequirao is found a mountain that from a distance looks clearly like a bull. You would think someone had sculpted a huge bovine on the mountain.
The people of the area narrate that near there could be another important Inca city and that this bull must be of pure gold. When dawn falls it shines like a star announcing the arrival of the sun god. Its location is in one of the most remote of places, filled with brush, fierce animals, swamps, cliffs, water falls, and all kinds of traps to keep anyone from getting there.
They say that many people have gone there, nevertheless, and after various days returned insisting they could not reach the bull and that their provisions had run out. Many others who made the trek never returned. They died on the way by falling into a trap or being devoured by fierce animals.
People also say that in this place you will find the treasure that the Inca Atahuallpa offered—two rooms full of silver and one of gold up to where he signaled with his right hand stretched out. This and more is hidden in this mountain like a bull, they say.
One of the families said that they found a piece of gold in the river below this mountain. After suffering many tragedies they said they found this gold and that it was cursed. They decided to return it to the river where they found it and then things got better for them. The illnesses they had contracted were healed.
The gold found on this mountain is filled with traps and curses.Those who wish to carry off its stupendous riches must go through all the traps and survive the curses. They will have to survive them for weeks and months while trekking to arrive and they will not know what awaits them if they get there.
