State of Emergency Extended until Sunday, April 12

The President of the Republic of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, extended today the state of emergency by 13 calendar days and declares that other measures will be taken against this pandemic that affects the entire world.

This measure has been approved by the executive and endorsed by the entire council of ministers. Likewise, the closure of borders will continue during the state of emergency.

Baskets of prime necessities, basic products, will be delivered to all municipalities so they can deliver them to the most vulnerable people in the entire country.

On the other hand, the president took the following measures:

Social immobilization will continue from 8 pm to 5 am.

He calls on the Army Organic Reserve to strengthen security on the streets.
The AFP (private retirement fund) contribution is suspended for one month.

A special appeal will be made for the reserves of the last 3 years.

All cases of detainees for violating the state of emergency will be brought to the public prosecutor’s office.

In addition, the withdrawal of the CTS (benefit for time worked) was authorized up to 2400

These measures are taken to beat this virus that is causing problems worldwide, Vizcarra said.
