Official Initiation of the Fiesta of the Lord of Qoyllur Rit’i

Today, May 18, to the sound of quenas, pututos, and dances, from very early one of the fiestas with the greatest manifestation of faith is officially. It is considered one of the most impressive cultural events and is called “The Fiesta of the Lord of Qoyllur Rit’i”. This celebration was recognized in 2011 Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.
