Environmental pollution by plastic is increasing every day and with incredible numbers, so much that it is polluting rivers and seas, preying on different ecosystems. For this reason that governments are beginning to take measures in different countries to regulate the excessive use of plastic .
On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, Peru approved the “LAW THAT REGULATES THE PLASTIC OF A SINGLE USE AND THE DISPOSABLE CONTAINERS”. This publication is having a positive response from thousands of Peruvians who are tired of seeing so much pollution.
The plenary of congress approved the law this day with 96 votes in favor and 2 abstentions. The norm establishes a regulatory frame on plastic of a single use and containers or disposable containers of polystyrene for foods and drinks .
Within a period of one hundred and eighty (180) days from the effective date of this law, the manufacture, distribution, delivery, marketing and consumption of plastic materials according to the regulations of use will be prohibited and different sanctions will be applied to those who do not comply with this law.
That is, we are entering a new stage where we will have to take new measures such as using biodegradable bags, being more aware of the use of plastic, and especially teaching new generations the consequences of excessive use of plastics.
today It is Peru’s turn and we hope that more countries will take decisions on these pollution issues that are damaging our planet and erasing everything beautiful that the next generations will not be able to enjoy.
