Farewell of the Saints in Cusco: The Octave of Corpus Christi

The eighth of Corpus Christi takes place Thursday in the city of Cusco with massive participation of the Cusco population that accompanies in procession the 16 saints and virgins that walk around the perimeter of the Plaza de Armas of the imperial city to initiate their departure and return to their churches in caravan and much hubbub

Today from very early the imperial city breathes an air of celebration full of many activities, processions, music, food, dance and much joy.

The religious festival of Corpus Christi comes to an end in the city with great joy and fervor. During the afternoon starting at noon, the allegorical procession of the saints and virgins accompanied by their civil, religious, devout and dancing authorities begins.

The return of the saints and virgins is given with a lot of pause as they stop in many places where they take advantage to eat and drink chicha or beer, many fireworks are burst.

Corpus ends but not the party. This continues with the anniversary of Cusco. This is how the imperial city is happy and colorful.
