Entrance to Machu Picchu for Cusqueños

The dream of thousands of people is to visit Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world. Every day tourists from different countries of the world and even Peruvian national tourists enter with the sole purpose of knowing and seeing how impressive this place is.

On the other hand, the Cusqueños, people of Cusco, have free admission to this sanctuary. Because they are locals, they have only been able to visit Machu Picchu on Sundays, but not Huaynapicchu, for which they must pay an additional amount just like a national tourist.

If you are from Cusco you should know that the entrance to Machu Picchu is no longer simply with the identity document (ID) as previously. Now you must request an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu at the Decentralized Directorate of Culture Cusco.

The entry ticket you request is free and you can enter it on the following page. In this portal you have to look for the tab that says “Cusqueños” and then fill out a simple form.

You must choose the date you want to visit, in this case on a Sunday. You will put the number of visitors and then press the “Availability” button. In this window you will be able to see the different schedules available for your visit.

Choose the one that suits you and then fill out the form with your personal information. It is necessary that you enter your data well to avoid inconvenience. You must confirm the information and accept the terms and conditions.

If you have an email address, you will have to enter it. You will have to fill in the reCAPTCHA and then your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu will automatically be generated. You must print it and take it with you when you go.

Machu Picchu is an extraordinary and majestic place and every time I visit it I find something new. I am always surprised by this wonder of the Incas.
