Corpus Christi: Photo Essay

Corpus Christi Cusco is the most important religious festival in Cusco.

There are 15 saints and virgins who with processions each leave their church to pay a visit to the Main Square of Cusco and then enter the Cathedral Basilica.

Thousands of visitors and believers fill the plaza of arms and the streets of Cusco, this colorful parade is the premier folk festival during the month of June

This multitudinous celebration that takes place in the Plaza Mayor is accompanied by gastronomy  and chiriuchu is our representative dish.
