Christmas arrived in Cusco

The city of Cusco lives a festive atmosphere. The beautiful Inca citadel dresses in color with Christmas images, colored lights, Christmas trees, decorationss on the balconies of the houses of the monumental core and the entire Plaza de Armas.

Christmas is the most anticipated celebration for the children of Cusco of the whole year. During the days before Christmas Eve, different events are held for children. They include chocolatadas, Christmas dinners, Christmas concerts, performances for Christmas and more.

Every year in the main square the santurantikuy is held. It is an artisanal fair where you can buy mangers for the baby Manuelito, wise men, decorations and gifts.

In this fair you can see all kinds of artisan objects such as wood carvings, pottery and carved retablos.

Chocolate and panetón is a Christmas tradition. Drinking a glass of hot chocolate with a panetón slice or a bizcocho, sharing it with friends or at work or with the family is a custom that awakens Cusco hearts.
