
Great news received the city of Cusco, the international emblem of UNESCO was placed in several important venues within the historic center. We are talking about the Basilica of the Cathedral, the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament, the Temple of the Holy Family and the Temple of Triumph.
The UNESCO Blue Shield is an international emblem that grants special protection to architectural monuments, in cases of armed conflicts, natural disasters, as well as support in post-crisis situations.
Next to the shield, QR codes were placed which redirect through a link to the page of the Provincial Municipality of Cusco, here you can find a brief historical description of said monument in two languages, Spanish and English.
DSince 2021 there are already three buildings that have the blue shield of UNESCO, The new buildings with the Blue Shield are added to those of the Municipal Palace of Cusco, the House of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and the Municipal Theater that in August of the same year they received the distinction.
These historical monuments have great historical value and tell us about events in a timeline that took place in our city, as well as the importance and pride for the people of Cusco.
