To the pride of all Peruvians, the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu tops the list of nominees in the World Travel Awards 2021 contest, also called the Oscar for tourism.
This award is awarded each year to tourist destinations that have marked excellence in all sectors of the global tourism industry. In its 28th edition, destinations in Peru are expected to receive several awards, as has happened in previous editions.
Now, Machu Picchu, our wonder of the world, needs the support of all Peruvians in voting for the best tourist attraction in South America category. Our majestic tourist destination has already won this award in 2018, 2019 and 2020 in this category, this year we are going for our fourth award and for this we have until July 26 to cast our vote. In this 28th edition, Machu Picchu competes with the Angel Falls (Venezuela), the Atacama Desert (Chile), Christ the Redeemer (Brazil), Middle of the World City (Ecuador), Iguazú Falls (Argentina), the Sanctuary of Las Lajas (Colombia), the Perito Moreno Glacier (Argentina) and the Torres del Paine National Park (Chile)
