A Plaque in the Cathedral Creates Mystery

Rodney Collin (England, 1909)

In the city of Cusco there are some events for which there is not much information or almost nobody talks about them.

If you go through the Cathedral of the city of Cusco, in the left nave there is an enigmatic plaque that is embedded in the floor and gives the following inscription “HERE RODNEY COLLIN GAVE HIS LIFETO PROJECT HARMONY, MAY 3, 1956”. Not all people notice this plaque as they simply pass without looking at the floor.

With regard to his death there are several theories. As the plaque says, you can assume at first glance that he committed suicide for some special reason, since he was a scholar of spiritual development whose work was focused on the relationship of the cosmos and man, as well as the influence of the planets in our history.

From the bell tower of the left nave of the cathedral of the cusco at night you can have an extraordinary view of the stars. For that reason, Rodney went up to take some photographs and visualize the stars.

Many people affirm that he could have slipped from the belfry. The distance to the ground is considerable and for this reason the fall caused the death.

If we do more research, we find out Rodney Collin suffered from the heart and was treated with different plants that helped him as a remedy to his illness. In the bell tower he may have suffered a heart attack causing him to plummet to the ground.

In any case, he was buried in the cemetery of La Almudena, and his grave is now found alongside other niches such as that of Clorinda Matto de Turner.

Because of his death they put a plaque in the Cathedral in commemoration to this scholar and writer from England.
