Closing the festival of Cusco comes the feast of San Pedro and San Pablo on the penultimate day that is on June 29. It is also one of the busiest, especially for the devotees of the aforementioned saints.
All this fiesta is planned months in advance by the mayordomos in charge of this feast. From very early on, people are concentrating on the door of the church of San Pedro waiting to be participants in the mass.
The Saint San Pedro leaves the church at noon and, to begin with, is received by an elegant band of musicians, all duly trained and who with great enthusiasm play the different melodies.
There are also fireworks as their must be on this day to announce that it is being celebrated. A pyrotechnics company is responsible for carrying this out. They say they are responsible for the fireworks of all fiestas within the city of Cusco and that all have the necessary security.
Food stalls are not lacking in this celebration. Chicharrón and chiriuchu are the favorites of the fiesta.
The clergy begin to leave with a ringing bell. The children are in charge of carrying the flowers and so on until they see Saint San Pedro on the shoulders of the porters. They say that it is an honor to carry the saint and that they have been doing it for many years. One of them affirms that he has been doing it for 6 Years.
After the saint, all the people follow to accompany the Saint San Pedro in procession.
