Lord of Temblors: Cusqueños will receive a blessing from their homes

Today the blessing of the Patrón Jurado of Cusco will be received virtually. It is the second year that due to the pandemic (covid-19) the traditional route of the “Taytacha de los Temblores” will not be carried out along with its large turnout of faithful devotees that fill the streets with each step that this remembered and venerated image advances. every year in our festive city.

Due to the fact that Cusco is at the extreme risk level due to this pandemic, all traditional and religious festivities in our region have been canceled, which is why prohibitions have been imposed that must be complied with in order to avoid contagion of the coronavirus.

The ecclesiastical authorities of Cusco reported that today there will be virtual mass from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, in the afternoon at 2:00 PM there will be a homily by Monsignor Richard Daniel Alarcon Urritia, Archbishop of Cusco, for the night the Taytacha de los Temblores will give its blessing, as every Holy Monday at 8:00 at night.

For the blessing, the venerated image will be transferred from its altar to the main altar of the cathedral, after the homily the blessing expected by all its faithful will proceed. Inside the cathedral basilica, only the representation of the Catholic clergy and members of the brotherhood are present, who will be in charge of the transfer of the image of the Taytacha of the tremors inside the basilica.

It was also announced that the Plaza de Armas of Cusco will be closed to the public on March 28 and 29, no one will enter, to avoid the crowds of people for these festivities, to comply with this provision the command of the VII Macro Cusco Police Region highlighted a contingent of police officers who will carry out the corresponding control.
