Super sports car with Quechua name, “Huayra”

Pagani is an Italian company dedicated to the manufacture of supercars, founded by the Argentine Horacio Pagani. Throughout 20 long years from 1999 to 2019 Pagani manufactured several models such as zonda c12, zonda roadster, zonda f, zonda cinque, zonda r, zonda tricolore, zonda revolution, among many others.

One of the models that stands out is the Pagani Huayra. This model was presented on February 18, 2011 at the headquarters of Pirelli in Milan, bearing the title of one of the most expensive cars in the world, with a value of more than two million euros.

The name they used for this supercar comes from the Quechua language of the Incas. This name has a very special meaning. It refers to one of the most important deities in Inca times, the wind.

The name of Huayra or wind is due to the aerodynamic design that this supercar has when reaching high speeds and for having a very light weight. Horacio Pagani mentions on his page “that after seven years of hard work, the birth of Huayra took place”.

To date, more versions of the Pagani Huayra have been released such as the Huayra BC in 2016 and the Huayra Roadster in 2018.

“The dream of a car like the Huayra Roadster can only be told through the words of Horacio Pagani, the man who most imagined it, wished it, and shaped it, as was the case of the sculptors of the past struggling with marble blocks that arguably already contained a vibrant soul. “

Like Pagani, the Quechua language has been used throughout the world for its meaning and sweet sound. In the Andes, people feel proud that their mother tongue makes a difference.
