After days of struggle and encounters, the strike was temporarily raised and a truce declared.

This decision was taken yesterday in an assembly carried out in the Plaza Manco Capac where all the population gathered when convoked by the Front or the Defense of the Interests of Machu Picchu.

This morning the rails were unblocked and the rail lines opened. Peru Rail’s trains resumed their work with complete normalcy, after the strike was lifted. This situation was confirmed by the Peruvian press.
