Spring Color and Rain Come to Cuzco

September began and with it we leave behind August and its winds. This month began with some sprinkles that announce the arrival of spring.

This is the month when the season begins to change. As the days advance, the rains appear more constantly. They refresh the whole city of Cuzco at different times. Some times Cuzco will wake up all cloudy in the company of drizzle. We call these rains that fall gently over several hours with a constant, light rhythm garuas, the same word that in Lima just means a mist.

These days the city begins to change, thanks to the continuity of the rains that fall. Color is reborn in our landscape. Cuzco becomes radiant and shows off its many colors.

From this month on we begin to see regularly our rainbows. They become ever more constant in the union between rain and sun. It seems that at any moment in the rainy season a rainbow will appear with its brilliant colors.

Furthermore this is when seeds sprout in our fields and our food plants begin to grow thanks to the rains. Our gardens also illuminate our mornings in the city with their beautiful roses and flowers of different colors. People love to see each day how their seed beds change and lead to blossoms.

People will enjoy the coming of the rains, as they do each year. Some of them will feel the rain drops as magic, the sorcery of newness for which they have longed these last weeks.
