South Korean Hyundai E&C, gets ready to prepare the site of the new Chinchero airport
The contest for the removal of earthworks from the future Chinchero Airport in Cusco already has a consortium in charge.
6 international consortia participated:
1) CONSORCIO CUZCO, made up of Constructora Santa Fe Ltda. Peru Branch and China Machinery Engineering Corporation (of Costa Rica and China).
2) CONSORCIO CRCC PERÚ, made up of China Railway Construction Corporation International Limited Branch of Peru and China Railway 20Bureau Group Corporation Branch of Peru (China and China).
3) CONSORCIO NUEVO CHINCHERO, made up of Mota-Engil Engenharia e Construcao S.A. Peru Branch and Obrascon Huarte Lain S.A. Branch of Peru (Portugal and Spain).
4) CHINA HARBOR ENGINEERING COMPANY LTD. (China)
5) FCC CONSTRUCCIÓN S.A. BRANCH OF PERU (from Spain)
6) CONSORCIO CHINCHERO, made up of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd and HV Contractors S.A. (South Korea and Peru).
Among which Hyundai E&C, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, was awarded the US $ 139 million project after beating rivals from Spain, Portugal and China.
Announced that it has obtained an order for 158.2 billion won (US $ 139 million) in Peru for the site preparation of the new airport in Chinchero, Cusco.
The Peruvian government hopes that the future international airport of Chinchero will become a reality, which will be a new gateway for all international visitors who will get to know and enjoy the experience of Cusco – Machu Picchu and all the tourist attractions that have its great history.
