At first day break Cuzco’s Plaza de Armas, its main square, awoke to a bustling and large Christmas market. Durng the day people throng it to look at the various offerings and buy Christmas decorations and gifts from Cuzco’s many craftsmen. Today, the Plaza has become a labyrith of surprises and delights while merchants have plastic covers handy just in case it rains. Christmas Eve opens with this festive market and its buying, selling, and just looking before people go home to await midnight.
