A large part of Cusco’s population made a date to be in the Plaza de Armas today. They came to enjoy the civic parade held to celebrate the national anniversary. The great military and civic parade began at 10 AM.
In front of the Cathedral the national flag was raised along with the flag of Cuzco. All present showed collective pride. With their hands on their hearts and their head raised high they sang the national anthem.
In the ceremony you could appreciate the elegance of the uniforms worn by the members of the national police, the Peruvian army and the firemen.
Both public and private educational institutions were present as were the superior institutions and the universities. Police units, the Unit of Special Services, the Terna group, and canine squads, tourist police, and the Vth Brigade of the Peruvian Army also marched to pay homage to Peru on it 195th anniversary.
It was a colorful parade carried out with skill. All the participants paraded with much love for our country.
Students from the schools that had won the competitions in the decentralized parades also paid homage. These include San Jerónimo, Wanchaq, Santiago, and Cusco.
The uniforms, arms, and vehicles were displayed all around the main square. The crowd was filled with feeling at each step of the participants. Their applauses were felt satisfactory in the face of the mobilization.
In the stands provisionally set up, you could feel people’s individual and collective pride in being Peruvians all together.
