Peru Wins in the World Travels Awards 2014 for South America

A hotel in Cuzco’s Sacred Valley, the Casa Andina Private Collection, won recognition as the best boutique hotel in Peru in the World Travel Awards 2014 Ceremony in Quito, Ecuador this last August 9th.

The hotel says it “resembles a refuge in the mountains, with fabulous views of the Andes from all rooms. This is a cozy hotel and has a local inspired design with rustic details.

Casa Andina Private Collection Sacred Valley is a hotel with 85 rooms and 4 Andean Cottages which allows visitors to enjoy the peace and energy of the Valley while enjoying the view of the Andes.”

This hotel is part of the well-known Casa Andina chain of hotels and marks the emergence of the Sacred Valley, about an hour outside the city of Cuzco though mucho lower in altitude and more moderate in climate, as an important destination in its own right.

Cuzco’s JW Marriott, ensconced modestly in an old palace a couple of blocks from the city’s main square, won the award for South America’s Best New Hotel

Its colleague, the JW Mariott of Lima obtain the award for South America’s Leading Hotel. Accompanying it, the Ramada Costa del Sol Hotel won as South America’s Leading Airport Hotel. Furthermore, the Swissotel of Lima was recognized as South America’s Leading Business Hotel while the Delfines Hotel and Casino in San Isidro, Lima was honored as South America’s Leading Casino Resort and the Belmond Mirafloes Park Hotel won as South America’s Leading City Hotel.
In addition, Peru won as South America’s Leading Culinary Destination, its Leading Cultural Destination, and its Leading Heritage Destination. The city of Lima won as South America’s Leading City Break.

Peru continues to gain honors for its importance in global tourism.
