Machupicchu Received one of the two World Travel Awards Won by Peru
The World Travel Awards, considered as the ‘Oscar’ awards of tourism worldwide, have delivered their list of winners of for the year 2017. This is an annual event and the results are published on their website.
This year has been like no other. Peru has not settled for ordinary awards. Our country was desgnated the world’s Best Culinary Destination for 2017 and our wonder Machupicchu took the recognition of the ‘Best Tourist Attraction of 2017’.
We had hoped for this, since our country has a great culinary variety and is more and more recognized while every day thousands visit Machupicchu and leave satisfied, with the desire to return the next year.
Other countries of Latin America were recognized in this global celebration. Our neighbor, Chile, was considered the Best Destination for Adventure Tourism in 2017 and the Charming Luxury Lodge & Private Spa, from Argentina, was chosen as the Best Boutique Resort of 2017.
Ecuador won three prizes: ‘Best Beach Destination in 2017′ (Galápagos Islands), the Best Green Destination of 2017, and the Best Green Hotel of 2017’ (Finch Bay Galápagos Hotel). Finally, Bolivia received the award for the Best Culture Destination of 2017.
