Flowers Bloom Even in Cuzco’s Dry Season

It has been dry in Cuzco for months now. Though clouds occasionally cross the sky and sometimes gather, there has been almost no rain. The landscape is at the height of brown.

The eucalyptus trees are yellowing from lack of water. At this time, it is easy to forget that Cuzco is a garden city with many plants and flowers both in pots and growing from the ground. Though still there, they often seem diminished by the heavy, dry sun of day and the bundled cold of night.

To remind us, Cuzco Eats presents a photo essay of plants in restaurants, on walls, and in the ground.
